报告摘要:

    We present a systematic work on the electromagnetic scattering generated by a cluster of dielectric nanoparticles, embedded into a background made of a vacuum. The resulting point-interaction approximations for the far fields requires no periodicity. Then concerning the extreme case for the size of the nanoparticles being small enough, we investigate the corresponding effective medium. We provide regimes under which the effective permeability can be positive or negative valued and show that if the incident frequency is close to the subwavelength all-dielectric resonance, the distributed cluster behaves as an extended quasi-static plasmonic resonator. In addition, the effective medium for the Van-der-Waals heterostructure has also been derived.

报告人简介:

    曹鑫林,目前任职于香港理工大学。2020年博士毕业于香港浸会大学。2020-2023年期间于奥地利科脱衣舞 RICAM研究所从事博士后工作。主要研究领域包括偏微分方程反问题,材料科学(电磁散射与超材料)数学研究等,在Math. Ann.,J. London Math. Soc., J. Math. Pures Appl., SIAM J. Math. Anal.等期刊发表十余篇论文。
